Founded in 2000 by Prof. Iain Baikie and his wife Elena, KP Technology is based in Wick. KP Technology design and manufacture a materials analysis device termed a Kelvin Probe. Kelvin Probes are non-contact, vibrating capacitor devices which characterise surface properties of materials. Patent-pending technologies have been incorporated extending the instruments’ range of applications to include display technology, nano-technology, semiconductor research, corrosion, surface coatings, medicine and biotechnology.
